The phone in the box that comes in the typical Motorola styled plastic free packaging. Box contains a sim tray tool, some reading material, a hard shell case & a Luxe Lavender colour case. USB C to C cable, a 125W charger which will recharge the phone very quickly. Phone looks very interesting in this lavender colour & the finish is quite good. The fragrance of this phone is hitting a new level & the vegan leather back, camera deco, metal frame, sleek design & 3D curved screen, all around the phone looks quite exciting.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro Design

The design of this phone is really very unique. It’s slim & feels like you’re holding a good phone. Especially with this vegan leather back, the phone looks very exciting. We also get a 2nd colour, which is a world’s first handmade design with a moonlight pearl finish. At the back, there’s a Moto Dimple with Moto logo. It’s quite interesting & gives a grippy feel to the phone. So from a design point of view, it’s really amazing.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro Camera

It has a triple camera setup at the back & the primary camera is of 50MP OIS & has an aperture of f1.4 which is really amazing. Below that, it has a 10MP camera with 3X optical zoom & can go upto 30X for hybrid zoom. It has a 13MP ultrawide camera with autofocus & can click macro photos. Below that, it has a time of flight camera & has an LED flash. In fact, the selfie camera is also completely packed as it comes with 50MP with autofocus. You can click 4K videos with both the front & rear cameras. But the best part is that the camera is certified by Pantone for human skin tones. It’s the world’s first & only smartphone where human skin tones are validated by Pantone.

If we talk about the colours, you get the complete features of this smartphone. It’s an AI powered & pro grade camera system & you get really good results. In fact, the AI photo enhancement engine works well across situations. It has AI based adaptive stabilisation & a tilt shift mode where you can shoot portraits & get good results. It also has intelligent autofocus tracking.

In this segment, you get the widest aperture of f1.4 & that’s why you’ll get exciting results all across. From the selfie point of view, the 50MP selfie camera will give you good results. Moto has done a great job with the camera. In the past, we used to say that the camera should be improved. So I think it has finally got an exciting package with this phone.

It has a 3D curved P-OLED screen. It’s a 6.7” screen & supports refresh rate upto 144Hz. Of course, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner. It has the world’s first & only true tone colour screen validated by Pantone. So all the colours you’re seeing on the screen are straight validated by Pantone for colour accuracy. So you’ll get a great screen experience. You get a peak brightness of 2000 nits, 10 bit colour support, 3D curved screen & SDR10+. Overall, from a screen point of view, in terms of normal usage, gaming & content consumption, you’ll get a great gaming experience.

It has a hole for a microphone on the side. Then it has a power button with volume up & down buttons. On the top, there’s another hole for a microphone. It’s Dolby Atmos branded as it supports stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. It has a clean design on the left side. Below, it has a sim tray, a prime microphone, a USB C port & a speaker grill. 

Performance

It has a Qualcomm SD7Gen3 processor. So you know that the performance is taken care of & you’ll get good results. You’ll get a fluid & good experience. There are 8GB or 12GB RAM options. Storage goes upto 26GB. This phone also comes with IP68 water resistance. So in extreme environments, you can work with this phone without any worries. 

Motorola Edge 50 Pro Battery

From the charging point of view, Moto has done a great job. It’s the only phone in the segment where you get 50W wireless charging support. You can also do reverse wireless charging with this phone. It also comes with a fast charging support of 125W. So you’ll get an in-box charger of 125W in the 12GB RAM option.

In the 8GB RAM option, you’ll get an in-box charger of 68W. If we talk about the battery capacity, it’s 4500mAh. So all around, Moto has made a very strong package.

It runs on Android 14. The UI is Motorola’s Hello UI. In the Hello UI, Motorola assures you that you’ll get 3 OS upgrades. You’ll get security updates for 4 years. There are many interesting Moto features. Like how you can connect it to a big screen & use it. The gestures, I’m a big fan of it. Like you can switch on the camera by twisting it. So all these things make the experience of this phone with the Moto gestures very good.

• The 8GB RAM 128GB storage variant with 68W charger box is priced at Rs 31,999.

• The 12GB RAM 256GB storage variant with 125W charger box is priced at Rs 35,999.

Now there are some offers in this. If we add them up, then the price of the next generation of this phone will be Rs 35,999. So guys, this is Motorola’s Edge 50 Pro. I think it’s a very aggressive package from the likes of Motorola.

Conclusion

Motorola has made a very exciting package for this phone. Like the design, display, camera & the world’s first segment only features. Given all the features that Motorola has packed in it, it feels like a premium experience. I feel that if you want a phone where you know you don’t need any of the pre-installed junk, and you know it’s a secure phone with a clean experience like Android, then I’d say that this Motorola Edge 50 Pro is for professionals or those who don’t need a kid’s UI.
